 RED RIBBON WEEK

Date: OCTOBER 25 - 31
Location: AHS
Details:

ARCADIA HIGH OBSERVES RED RIBBON WEEK

The Red Ribbon Week Celebration began when Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Agent Enrique Camerena was murdered by drug traffickers in Mexico in 1985. Red ribbons are worn during the last full week in October as a way for Californians to proclaim “no use of illegal drugs, and no illegal use of legal drugs.”

This year Red Ribbon Week will be observed on the Arcadia High campus on October 25 – 31. This statewide community organization is unique to Californians creates an awareness for a healthy and drug free lifestyle that is important to every individual. Drug abuse stands as one of the major challenges our state faces in securing a safe and healthy future for all and by wearing and displaying the red ribbon we are reminded of this challenge.

Take part and be active in the resolve to make our world safe, drug free, and healthy!
