PTA Meeting

The next PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Chambers at Arcadia City Hall .  The City Hall is located at 240 West Huntington Drive .

 

The proposed agenda is attached.

 

There will be a Potluck Dinner at 6:00 p.m. on the lawn at the Arcadia City Hall before the meeting. 

 

New:  Bring your own chair!

 

Please contribute one item for you and your family:

Freshmen: Salad or vegetable

Sophomore: Main dish or side dish

Junior: Main dish or side dish

Senior: Dessert or Fruit

If you are not able to bring a dish, don’t worry, come anyway.  There is always enough food!

 

Bring your own chair and a sweater or jacket as two groups will have their grade level discussion outside!! 

 

During dinner, please have each person share their best volunteer experience. This is our ice breaker!

 

6:00pm - 7:00pm                  Potluck Dinner

6:50pm -7:00pm                   Start moving to the City Council Chambers

7:00pm - 7:30pm                  Administrators talks

7:30pm - 8:00pm                  PTSA Business Meeting and Reports

8:00pm - 9:00pm *                Group Discussions by Grade Level

 

*We will break in groups by grade level with leaders and hopefully counselors too.  Suggested discussion topics include:

 

Freshmen: How to help your child adjust to high school life. How are activities helping my student in school?

 

Sophomore: How to find balance between academic and activities. Should my student go into AP classes right away? How should my child select classes?

 

Junior: What is most important - AP, SAT or GPA. SAT, college preparedness concerns. Planning college trips.

 

Senior: How to help your child complete college application process. Which college should my child pick?

Reminders:
