NOTE for Special Education AND English Language Learners:
- 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Special Education Program- Information regarding services rendered for Special Ed students, focusing on 9th grade. This workshop will be held in the Cafeteria.
OR
- 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. ELD - The English Language Development Department will present and explain the four levels of ELD including the various ways we determine placement for each level, the content and teaching strategies for the different classes and the requirements for entrance into College Prep English. This workshop will be held in the Little Theater.
Everyone should arrive at the North Gym by 6:30 p.m.
6:30 – 7:40 p.m. Welcome and Presentations in the North Gym
- AHS Department Chairs for the electives will present the programs available and the requirements for high school:
- Careers and Technology
- Performing Arts
- Visual Arts
- The AHS counselors will walk you through the programming process for 8th graders moving into the high school. This is a chance to have all your questions answered regarding class selection, class prerequisites, graduation requirements, and more.
Workshops listed below will be held from 7:45 to 9:20 p.m. and instructions for attending the sessions will be given to you when you arrive at the North Gym.
Math– Staff will address the most frequently asked questions about the math programs offered at the high school. Information regarding the sequencing of math classes including the Algebra G series, honors, and Advanced Placement will be provided.
English / English Honors – Staff will address the most frequently asked questions about college prep, honors and the Advanced Placement program along with entrance procedures, and English elective offerings.
Social Science- Information will be presented regarding college prep, honors, the Advanced Placement program, as well as entrance procedures, and social science elective offerings.
Science- Staff will give a brief overview of courses offered, graduation requirements and will be available to answer questions.
World Languages- Staff will address the most frequently asked questions about the world language classes offered at the high school.
Arcadia High School Booster Organizations will be set up tonight in the
Rally Court to meet you informally and answer questions.
