Host a French Student 
 

Who: 22 Students ages 17-18, and 2 Teachers from Trévoux, France near Lyon

        (18 boys, 4 girls… we need families willing to host boys!

What: They will visit Los Angeles, staying with families from Arcadia for 14 nights while they are guests at AHS and visit local attractions.

When: From: Saturday February 20  To: Saturday March 5 

How:  The basic guidelines on how to be a host family and provide student housing are simple, straightforward and ideal for people who want to make a difference as well as receive a rewarding lifetime experience.  

1. Visiting students must have their own bed in a room where they can sleep well. They can share a bedroom with another child, as long as the student and the host sibling are the same sex and within five years of age of each other. You are not providing a hotel accommodation, so it does NOT need to be extravagant in any way.

2. The host family will need to provide all breakfasts, lunches and dinners for the 14 days.

3. Host Families will need to drop off their host student at AHS or at a predetermined location each morning before 8:00 am for school or for their daily adventure, and pick them up around 5pm or 6pm from the same location, or after school on the days they attend AHS. The French students will attend school with their AHS host student several of the days that they are here.

4. We understand that many members of our community have moved here from another country, and may normally speak a language other than English at home. We ask only that when the host student is in your home, you try to use English (or French!) to communicate. We hope to encourage more cultural exchange in this manner! 

 

Closer to the date of their arrival, there will be an orientation meeting to review the details of this student group visit.
