Performing Arts Center Grand Opening

The Arcadia Unified School District and Arcadia High School are proud to announce the opening of the long awaited Performing Arts Center (PAC). Two weekends are being dedicated to the grand openings. Various school groups and the famous Paul Anka will help us herald the opening of the PAC. We hope that you, your family, and friends will attend one of the performances below. Even if you do not have anyone participating in the performance, you will want to be a part of this once in a lifetime event and take the opportunity to tour the complex.

Student Showcase - October 18, 19 & 20: The Student Showcase will include performances by students for the entire community free of charge. All Arcadia schools will be showcasing students in a variety of performances. The Student Showcase schedule will include:

October 18, 4:30 p.m. - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, all are invited to attend.
October 18, 6:30 p.m. - Arcadia High School Performing Arts Department will feature combined performances by Band, Choral, Dance, Drama & Orchestra students
October 19, 6:30 p.m. - First Avenue Middle School, Baldwin Stocker and Holly Avenue Elementary schools will perform
October 20, 2:30 p.m. - Dana Middle School, Camino Grove and Longley Way Elementary Schools will perform
October 20, 6:30 p.m. - Foothills Middle School, Highland Oaks and Hugo Reid Schools will perform

Paul Anka Opening Night Fundraiser Concert - Saturday, October 27: Paul Anka, the famous singer, songwriter, and performer, will be performing for us at the Paul Anka Opening Night Fundraiser Concert. It will begin at 7:45 p.m. with an introduction by Superintendent Joel Shawn, followed by the performance at 8:00 p.m. The cost of each ticket will go toward the establishment of a Performing Arts Foundation, designed to keep the Arcadia PAC open and available well into the future. Guided Tours: Guided tours (20 minute durations) of the building will be provided one hour before each performance. Tours will begin in the building lobby.

Personal Program Ads: Acknowledge your child’s performance, honor the occasion, or promote your business in the Student Showcase by purchasing a personal ad in the Student Showcase Program, a booklet designed especially for the weekend's event. The Program will be a wonderful keepsake of your student’s participation in this momentous event. Proceeds from the ads will go toward supporting the Performing Arts Center, as well as art education and art programming for the entire community. Ad notices are available in the front office of each school. The deadline for ads has been extended to the end of this week, October 5. Cost: $200 for full page ads; $125 for ½ page ads; $35 for business card size ads.

Performance Videos: Each of the four school performances will be videotaped and DVDs will be available for purchase to benefit the Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation. Cost: $10 for each performance; $30 for all 4 taped performances. All DVDs must be pre-ordered and paid orders must be received by November 1.
