BACK TO SCHOOL CHECKLIST FOR FIRST DAYS

Back to School Checklist

SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:30 ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 13


CLICK “MY SCHEDULE” IN POWERSCHOOL TO FIND YOUR CLASS LINKS (MORE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW)


*If you have a TA assignment, you do not need to see a counselor.  Follow the rest of your schedule.  TAs will be assigned to teachers in the coming days.



Students will have Periods 1-6 on Thursday and Friday

The regular bell schedule will start the week of 8/17


Getting started:

  • Class schedules can be accessed on PowerSchool by 6:00PM on 8/12 *(The PS app will not display this data correctly. You can access the schedule through any web browser.)

  • Class meeting links can be found on your PowerSchool schedule by clicking on the “My Schedule” tab on the left column 

  • Here’s the bell schedule which can always be found on the AHS website under “About”

  • Fill out the form on the Counseling webpage for help with your schedule. Attend classes as listed until the conflict is resolved and you are sent an updated schedule.

  • School starts at 8:30 AM (on the first day and everyday thereafter) 

  • Thursday, 8/13 and Friday, 8/14 will be periods 1-6 (like a Monday).  The regular schedule will begin during the week of 8/17

  • If you have not registered, you must fill out the ANTP: https://portal2.ausd.net/emergencycard/changecard.ausd.  


Textbooks:

  • If you haven’t picked up your textbooks, go to all of your classes on Thursday 

  • Pick up textbooks via drive through in the staff parking lot (enter by stop light on Duarte Rd) on Thursday, 8/13 between 1:30 and 3:00.  You do not need a reservation

  • If you need to change a text book, fill out this form by noon on 8/13.  If you fill out the form by noon you can pick up your textbook at the drive through on 8/13 between 1:30 - 3:00

  • If you have any specific questions regarding textbooks or Chromebooks, you can email the librarian, Lesley Ogle, at logle@ausd.net


Attendance and Behavior:

  • Students need to log in prior to the start of class so they are ready to learn at the start of class and log out at the end of the class.  

  • Students should dress appropriately and follow all attendance and behavior guidelines established by your teacher. 

  • If a student is not able to participate due to an excusable absence their parent should email ahsattendance@ausd.net with a note explaining the reason for their absence.  

  • Students should communicate internet issues to their teacher and to attendance as soon as possible.  

  • Students may need to be on camera with microphones on as directed by their teachers.

Student Safety:

  • There are two ways to report concerns to the school, one is anonymously the number to call 626 821 4682 (it is also on the back of last years ID).  The second is by contacting Mr. Kerney kkerney@ausd.net or 626 821 1759 or Mr. Finn jfinn@ausd.net and 626 821 1791.  Students may be asked to fill out an incident form.  

  • If there is an incident or concern that takes place outside of recognized school times and events I should contact the Arcadia Police Department.
